Phase 1: Core Concepts
During the Core Concept phase of Wild Treasures, your class will work in small groups with your WT Teaching Assistant to solve a variety of surprising problems designed to introduce you to the five Core Concepts of Climate Change: systems, cycles, feedback loops, exponential growth, and resilience. With an emphasis on collaboration and problem solving, students will create, monitor, and adjust their very own Biospheres in your classroom. The biospheres are a tool for investigations into the five core concepts on a micro-scale, allowing students to gain firsthand experience with the science of climate change. If your class solves all the problems, you will be eligible to win up to $500 that will go towards later phases of this program.
Objectives
